At Alabama Paintball, we’re pulling out all the stops at all three of our locations to bring you a day packed with adrenaline, fun, and a bit of history that hits close to home.

🌎 What is World Paintball Day?

World Paintball Day is more than just an excuse to grab your gear and head into the action — it’s a global celebration of a sport that’s been thrilling players for decades. The first recognized paintball game was played on June 27, 1981, in New Hampshire. A group of 12 friends used tree-marking pistols to test survival instincts, strategy, and good old-fashioned competitiveness.

One of those 12 trailblazers? Charles Gaines, a name well-known to many in Alabama — because he’s from right here in Birmingham! Gaines, a Truman Capote Award winning writer and outdoorsman, helped organize and participate in that first historic game, planting the seed for what would grow into the sport we love today. That connection gives Alabama a rightful place in the paintball legacy, and it’s a story we’re proud to honor every year.

To mark the occasion, we’re turning up the energy at all three Alabama Paintball parks with exclusive one-day specials, giveaways, and team challenges that promise an unforgettable experience for first-timers and seasoned players alike.

"I WANNA WORK HERE"

By Tyler CAPP • October 12, 2026

“I Wanna Work Here.” Great- Because we need you! At Alabama Paintball, we do paintball differently. Where others focus on games, we focus on people, experiences, and community. That approach has helped us grow over the past 14 years to three locations—with plans to keep growing. A great day here means keeping happy people happy. It’s helping a nervous parent feel comfortable, getting a first-time player excited, and making a birthday kid feel like the most important person in the park. Our reputation brings people through the gate, and our team gives them a reason to come back. We’re hiring Safety Hosts and Assistant Managers at all three locations. If you’ve worked in hospitality or customer service—or you’re interested in getting started—we’d love to meet you. You don’t need to be a paintball player to belong here. We’re laid back and like to have fun, while taking our guests, safety, and responsibilities seriously. We’re looking for people who make others feel at home, notice when someone needs a hand, and take pride in a job done well. Sound like your kind of place? We provide paid training and we’d love to hear what you could bring to our growing team. Choose your location to learn more and apply: Calera — Central Alabama Paintball McCalla — Alabama Paintball Quest Chelsea — Alabama Paintball 280 If you “wanna work here,” we’d love to hear why!
